GuildLink makes vaccination changes in GuildCare NG for pharmacies in Australian Capital Territory and Queensland

GuildLink has released an update to GuildCare NG’s vaccination recording service inline with the vaccination policy changes made by the Australian Capital Territory and Queensland government.

Trained pharmacists in the ACT will now be able to administer the measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine to people aged over 16 years old and the influenza vaccine to people aged 10 years and above.

This same influenza vaccination age change has been previously implemented within GuildCare NG for trained pharmacists in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania, Western Australia and Victoria.

Furthermore, trained pharmacists in Queensland will now be able to record the administration of the cholera vaccine in GuildCare NG as per the changes in legislation last month.

Together these changes in vaccination policies and in GuildCare NG will allow trained pharmacists to provide their patients with further access to vaccine-preventable diseases and increased healthcare support.

“GuildLink is committed to delivering state-based legislation changes as soon as possible in order to help support pharmacists’ role as vaccinators and healthcare providers,” said CEO GuildLink Arun Sharma, “We recently launched our new Bulk Messaging feature to help pharmacies better communicate to their patient base regarding the availability of professional services such as influenza vaccinations; and improved our Calendar function to help pharmacists better manage appointments with patients and pharmacy resources. We recommend pharmacists familiarise themselves with these features to help manage expected increases in vaccination and professional services appointments – especially in these COVID-19 times.”

Vaccinations recorded in GuildCare are automatically sent to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR), allowing pharmacists to both meet vaccination recording requirements and save time entering vaccination information. The AIR integration removes double handling of patient data and provides a more accurate and efficient system of recording vaccinations. GuildCare NG was the first professional pharmacy services platform to integrate with AIR.
