GuildLink is proud to launch the new Ozempic® New to Treatment (NTT) Program. This Patient Support Program has been developed in partnership with Novo Nordisk to assist pharmacists to better support patients starting Ozempic® for the first time.
The new Ozempic® NTT Program has been designed to promote the quality use of Ozempic®, a new PBS-listed GLP-1 receptor agonist that is indicated for the treatment of adults with insufficiently controlled Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) as an adjunct to diet and exercise, as monotherapy when metformin is not tolerated or contraindicated or in addition to other medicinal products for the treatment of T2D. The program also provides patients with educational support to increase patient knowledge of the medication and improve adherence.
In the Ozempic® NTT Program, pharmacists will be able to:
- View key clinical information in an easy-to-read format to facilitate the structured counselling of Ozempic®
- Equip patients with resources to support their treatment including web-based and written information such as treatment guides, instructional videos and information about Novo Nordisk’s Patient Support Program – OzempicCareTM and Patient App – Ozempic® AU
- Set up follow-up SMS or email reminders to patients regarding additional support tools and to remind patients when it is time to review their treatment with their doctor
- Easily access pharmacist resources including the training module, dosing guides and relevant product information
Pharmacies will receive a $15 professional services fee for each completed case and there is no cost to the patient or pharmacy. The Ozempic® NTT Program is the latest addition to the available Patient Support Programs in GuildCare NG. These programs can play an important role in assisting patients in their treatment by addressing compliance issues, encouraging the quality use of medicines or improving patient access to other clinical programs. As these programs are optimised for busy workflows of pharmacies, pharmacies can more efficiently provide a wider array of professional services to drive improved patient health outcomes.
